Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan

Macedonia’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan is a comprehensive document designed to outline strategies and measures to prevent or reduce pollution of stormwater runoff from resident and commercial properties, construction sites, and industrial facilities. Our plan includes details on erosion control, sediment management, spill response, and other practices to safeguard water quality during rain events and prevent contaminants from entering nearby water bodies.

The City works with many organizations to help accomplish these activities, including the Summit County Engineer’s Office, the Summit County Soil and Water Conservation District, the City Engineer, the Tinkers Creek watershed Partners, and others who have been willing to assist us in meeting the goals of our program.

Tinkers Creek Watershed

The City of Macedonia is a member of the Tinkers Creek Watershed Partners. A portion of the community is within the Tinkers Creek Watershed, and this nonprofit organization is helping us meet EPA's Phase II Stormwater Requirements. They also help to educate the local officials, businesses and residents on the Tinkers Creek Watershed, nonpoint source pollution, stormwater management, and other aspects of protecting our natural resources.

Tinkers Creek Watershed Partners hosts events throughout the watershed including an annual watershed festival, stream cleanups, nature walks and other activities that individuals can participate in. We encourage our residents to volunteer and become active with this organization.
