Brian Ripley - Fire Chief

The Macedonia Fire Department is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community by providing fire services, EMS, specialized rescue, fire prevention, and public education. Our team is comprised of highly skilled and trained professionals who stand ready to respond to any situation, from the smallest incidents to the most challenging emergencies.

Our coverage area encompasses not only the City of Macedonia but also the neighboring townships of Sagamore Hills and Northfield Center, for a total of 26 square miles and a population of nearly 29,000 residents. We handle more than 4,000 incidents each year, responding to every kind of emergency imaginable — requests for medical treatment, building fires, vehicle crashes, rescues of all natures, and so on. Quite simply, when people need help, we assist in any way we can.

As chief of the Macedonia Fire Department, I see our organization as a living, growing enterprise dedicated to the protection of life and property, while placing service to our residents above self-interests. The Macedonia Fire Department is made up of the most caring, unselfish, and hard-working men and women I have ever met. It’s their dedication that makes me proud to serve as their chief.

Along with our partners in safety — Macedonia Dispatch, the police departments of Macedonia and Sagamore Hills, and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office — we are always here for you, 24/7.

Stay safe and be fire smart!

Sincerely,
Chief Brian Ripley
