Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA)

The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) administers and collects all local income taxes and serves as an agent of the City in this capacity.

All payments for municipal income taxes, for current or prior tax years, are to be sent to RITA and not to the City of Macedonia. All checks or money orders are to be made payable to RITA.

Income Tax and Refund Program

The City’s tax rate is 2.50%. Residents receive 100% credit for income taxes paid to other cities up to 2.50%. Residents are eligible for a .25% tax refund of the 2.50% of City of Macedonia income taxes credited or collected from the resident.

A resident is not eligible for a refund of city income taxes from the City of Macedonia if the amount of total city income taxes paid to a Municipality other than the City of Macedonia is greater than or equal to 2.50% of their taxable income.
