If you see a dead animal on the road, especially if it is interfering with traffic flow, please call the Service Department at 330-468-8324. We will collect it as soon as possible.

Mailbox Policies

It is the responsibility of each resident to ensure their mailbox is sturdy enough to withstand snow and slush being plowed off the road by City trucks. Residents can construct a small shield out of plywood that would block the forces of plowed snow and slush from hitting and possibility damaging the mailbox.

The City is not responsible for damaged mailboxes that are the result of plowed snow and slush, boxes that are too close to the street as defined by postal regulations, or boxes that were not sturdy to begin with. The Service Department will only replace a mailbox that has evidence that it was physically struck by a City snow plow. The City has the right to judge whether or not mailbox damage was caused by a snow plow truck or not.

Used Motor Oil Guidelines

You can bring used motor oil to 9000 Valley View Road for proper disposal, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Used motor oil cannot be mixed with anything else, and no antifreeze or other waste/hazardous materials will be accepted. 

Never throw used oil or other hazardous liquids on the ground, down the sewer, down a septic tank, in a floor drain, or in the trash.

Summit County ReWorks offers Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection seasonally from June through September. ReWorks is located at 1201 Graham Road in Stow, at the Route 8 Overpass.

Dried latex paint can be disposed of with your regular trash service.
