The men and women of the Macedonia Fire Department are committed to our community through excellence in fire suppression, medical intervention, and education. We work to protect life and property, whenever the need arises, through dedication and a desire to improve public safety for our families, friends, and neighbors.

Our three fire stations serve the communities of Macedonia, Sagamore Hills Township, and Northfield Center Township. The City of Macedonia provides services to the townships on a contract basis, which was renewed in 2021 for another 15 years. What started as a volunteer department of 12 men over 100 years ago today supports 30 full-time and 23 part-time firefighters/paramedics, plus two support staff who are also responsible for the Macedonia Senior Center. In 2023, we responded to nearly 4,400 incidents — that’s about 12 call outs every single day.

We receive a tremendous amount of support from our communities, residents, and co-workers, which we greatly appreciate!
